Welcome to the web site of The Peace Caucus, holding concerns on peace and militarism in the light.

Please note that this site continues to undergo major reorganization and expansion in follow-up to the 60th Annual DPI/NGO Conference and the Conference declaration on Climate Change Threats - An NGO Framework for Action and in preparations for the High-Level Event on Climate Change on September 24, 2007 and the UN Climate Change Conference in Bali in December 2007. Please revisit this site soon.

Recent development of this web site has focused on the use of RSS feeds in support of more effective gathering and sharing of information and news on critical issues on climate change and related issues, and on the use and organizations of tiddler tags to assist in the organization and presentation of the growing contents of this web site - there are currently about 500 "tiddlers" in this site, of which approximately 90% have substantive content - the remainder are used for organizing and formatting the site and plugin macros that power some of the sites features.

The focus of the Peace Caucus at the conference, Climate Change: How It Impacts Us All was on:

Climate Change: Military and Nuclear Challenges, Breakfast Networking Sessions, 8:30-9:30 am, Wednesday September 5 & Friday, September 7
The Wild Cards in Climate Change: Weather Warfare, Geoengineering and ENMOD, a Mid-Day Workshop on Wednesday, September 5.
Coping With Climate Change: Best Land Use Practices, an Afternoon Roundtable on Thursday, September 6.

We also invite you to consider participating in the Youth Climate Change Learning Challenge that we are preparing to launch shortly.

The web site is being developed with dual goals:

Gathering & organizing information relating to peace issues - with a current focus on climate change
Discovering and exploring the remarkable nature and peaceful properties of a digital "knowledge-based universe
